Before there was Digg there was Slashdot. After Digg there is still Slashdot.
The geek capital of the Internet.
Despite competition from the likes of Digg, Slashdot has continued to what it does, and does it very well, provide “News for Nerds”. They have avoided the temptation to expand into new areas, something that others have not been able to avoid.
There maybe be speedier news outlets, but Slashdot’s quality controls ensure you’ll only see the best news, and their rabid fans are never lost for words.
I’ve never been a big fan of the design of the blog, a few too many rounded corners and gradients for my liking.
